The fight for EOC has started

My situation is different than ever before. I'm not an insider considering Finnish National Team, but I'm not feeling totally outsider. I know that I have to fight my way to European Championships and I should do it without waisting my energy off the Championships. I need all my force to do top performances there.

I started the challenge to EOC-team in Silja-Rastit on Saturday. The middle distance race in South-West Finland has never been my favourite and even in my very best there has been others, who has the skills and abities to perform same level as I can. My strengths are in other places and situations. I also had a problem with the flu, which took some energy from me. I felt that I have a limiter in my body so that I can't do any harm. It's not good to run in a flu, but it had been there already a week. I decided to do my best, which was 7th place, only 7 seconds from 3rd position. The result was ok, especially concidering the situation, but my speed was far from Pasi's speed. I lost 2'11" to Pasi, which make me wonder, but as I said I had a limiter on.

I didn't feel worse after race on Saturday, so I decided to take advantage from nice 1:15000 scale long distance competition on Sunday in Ankkurirastit. I felt actually quite good in the beginning, but then I felt again that I have a limiter on. In the end I could push a little bit harder. It was nice that OMa Taivainen was showing the world class. Otherwise I would have felt too good. After the race I had a good feeling, but in the evening I got a fewer. I took with smile, because now my body is trying to do its best to recover fully from the flu that has bothered me a week.

I had also the second night after Sunday's race in fewer and my body surely is fighting now. The biggest fight for me is now the mental balance, the harmony, I've been writing before. Now I'm going to fulfill my harmony during this week. I'm energizing my whole body, I'm getting rid of the flu and I'm getting the brake that makes it possible to get my shape in new level as supercompensation does its work. When I'm trained well, I can calmly wait and listen, how the shape gets better and my body stronger during the rest :)

My next goal is to be on time at the start line in FinnSpring long distance test race for European Championships on Saturday. See you there!
